Our pals at Granada, Spain will also be having fun of their own this October as they launch an anime-comic-gaming convention, FicZone Granada! This event, to cover three days from 12th-14th October, will have a theme set for each day.

October 12 (Friday) – Gaming: It could be anything from MMO, console, card and even board games. A couple of tournaments, contests and other fun activities can be expected as well.
October 13 (Saturday) – Manga and Anime: There will be cosplay competitions, concerts, karaoke events and meet and greet sessions with some of the biggest names in the anime industry. In addition, Studio DEEN will also present their i-Style Project for the first time in Europe! The two newest Vocaloid characters, Lapis and Merli, will also be making their appearance.
October 14 (Sunday) – Adventure Sunday: For those who are familiar with the Cartoon Network series, Adventure Time, this is a day they wouldn’t want to miss! As this is the first official Adventure Time event in Europe of its kind, expect to have tons of fun activities and events suited for kids and adults alike.

As mentioned earlier, there will be a lot of Japanese guests from the anime industry, some of which you might be familiar with already. From Japan, prominent people such as Shinichiro Watanabe (director of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo), Hiroshi Nakahama (director of Musishi, Detroit Metal City) and some staff from ArtLand Studio (Macross) will be present most likely on the 13th. Joseph Game (or Chogrin, Production Assistant in Adventure Time series) will be there too to thank and promote the successful show even more. Comic artists Kenny Ruiz (Le Mystère Nemo), Jorge Jiménez (new artist for DC’s comic Smallville and Arrow), Xian Nu Studio (Bakemono, Amour Sucre) and Javier S. Aranda (Star Trek TNG) will be having individual booths to present their new works and talk about their experiences in their career as well.

Other special events for the upcoming FicZone Granada are Artists’ Alley and two exhibits (SAVE&DESTROY Art Show and Adventure Time tribute exhibit). The Artists’ Alley will have a display of various works done by amateur and professional artists, as well as a workshop for drawing, digital art, and even video game development. In addition, the sponsor for Artists’ Alley, DeviantART, will be having a mural wherein people can draw and display their artworks. SAVE&DESTROY Art Show (sponsored by Max Toy Co., GUUMON & Monster Kolor) will feature works with kaiju theme from 34 different artists worldwide. The exhibit will also have live-painting sessions, where the artist Javier Jimenez will be demonstrating air painting a vinyl kaiju. The other exhibition is solely dedicated to Adventure Time, and will be featuring artworks of a Spanish art collective, The Autumn Society.

Apart from these exciting events, guests will be able to roam around and drop by over more than 25 different stores selling their best products, from comics, video games, merchandise and much more!
