Manga is taking the world by storm! MyAnimeList’s ultimate manga reading list receives 2024 renewal

-A comprehensive list of titles that everyone should be reading, deserve an anime adaptation, or are ideal for beginners according to the international manga community-

TOKYO – February 26, 2024 MyAnimeList has released the 2024 edition of its annual You Should Read This Manga, a selected reading list built by avid manga readers from across the globe. Divided into sections, the list consists of four categories which can be enjoyed by both newcomers to the medium as well as experienced readers. As part of this year’s event, MyAnimeList users will receive a special profile badge if they read a title on the list and register it to their manga list.

■ What is “You Should Read This Manga”?

A unique global manga promotion project carried out by MyAnimeList, the world-renowned anime and manga community with 18 million monthly active users from over 240 countries in conjunction with industry professionals. The project is the first of its kind and features online nominations from users around the world as well as a panel of judges who curate nominations to produce the ultimate list of manga recommendations for that year. Aside from the main category, “You Should Read This Manga”, there are also sub-categories tailored for beginners and other audiences.

This event also serves as a sales promotion opportunity with banners promoting industry sponsors.

“You Should Read This Manga 2024”:

• At least one volume of the manga was published overseas in 2023.
• Not already in the Top 50 Manga Ranking/Popular Ranking on MyAnimeList.
• You really want to recommend this manga to a friend!

“Should be Anime”:

• Manga without an anime adaptation (from the last 5 years).

“Best for Beginners”:

• Can easily be enjoyed by new manga readers (e.g. who have read 5 titles or less).

• For well-versed manga readers who are looking for something fresh.
