Classic Sonic Joins the Race for Sonic’s 35th Anniversary
June 24, 2026 – SEGA is thrilled to reveal that more CrossOver racers are coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds through free updates.
Starting today at 12:00 PM (UTC+8), come celebrate Sonic’s 35th anniversary by speeding down the course as Classic Sonic! Axel from the Crazy Taxi series is drifting into the game this August, followed by Amigo from Samba de Amigo, who’ll shake up the track in September. Each racer comes with their own specially themed Machine. Stay tuned for more details!
The Ver. 1.4.1 update is also live, bringing 8 new Gadgets, a variety of classic SEGA tunes, and more to enhance your races.

The Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds World Championship 2026—the game’s first-ever global tournament—is coming soon. The 24 racers who win the qualifiers will earn a trip to New York and a chance to compete for the top spot on October 10, 2026. Outspeed the competition to secure your place at the finals!

Classic Sonic and his signature Machine, Mach Cyclone, are out now. In upcoming free updates, you’ll be able to blaze down the track as Crazy Taxi’s Axel and Amigo from the Samba de Amigo games!

Sonic 35th Anniversary Festival Coming Soon

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be hosting a special Sonic 35th Anniversary event from June 26! Join one of three teams and compete to score the most points. Each race offers a different challenge—perform the most Touch Boosts or complete other special objectives! Earn Festival Points during the event to unlock exclusive in-game items, including a new decal, horn, and more!
Schedule: June 26, 8:00 AM–June 29, 2026, 7:59 AM (UTC+8)
Rewards
Festival-exclusive gadgets will become available to players in future updates.
Alternative ways of obtaining Festival rewards may be introduced in the future.
*Deleting your save data will also erase all Festival rewards you’ve earned. These cannot be obtained again, so please be mindful when deleting your data.
Sonic 35th Anniversary Songs Revealed! English and Chinese Music Videos Out Now
“Speed Is My Life” by Jun Senoue, the Sound Director of the Sonic series, has been unveiled as the brand-new song commemorating the Blue Blur’s 35th anniversary. Also don’t miss special arrangements by hit Chinese and Japanese music artists. The Japanese version, “ONSOKU WO KOETE,” was arranged by Yunosuke and sung by Hatsune Miku, while the Chinese version, “Here We Go ~ Run to the Future,” was arranged and performed by virtual singer Yousa・Ling.
Music videos for “Speed Is My Life” and “Here We Go ~ Run to the Future” are out now. Be sure to check them out!
All three of these anniversary tracks have been added to the game. Visit the Jukebox to set them as background music for your races!

About Ver. 1.4.1
The Ver. 1.4.1 update adds a variety of new content, including 8 new Gadgets, Chinese voice language, new music from the Sonic series and SEGA classics, and a host of collab decals.
– 8 New Gadgets to Expand Options for Existing Playstyles
The new Evolution Gadgets power up as you fulfill specific conditions on the track, letting you approach races with a fresh game plan. You can also equip your ride with Perfect Landing, which boosts your speed at the end of an Air Trick, along with a host of other Gadgets designed to synergize with existing options.

*These can be obtained once your Gadget Plate reaches Gold Plate or higher.
As part of the Sonic 35th anniversary celebrations, all players will receive a unique Gadget inspired by Sonic’s signature Spin Dash. In future updates, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will roll out five new types of Gadgets to add even more strategic depth to the track. Stay tuned to learn more!
