STRANGER THAN HEAVEN | Act 1: Kokura Story Trailer

October 19, 2026 – SEGA has unveiled a trailer showcasing Kokura, the backdrop of the first era in STRANGER THAN HEAVEN—releasing on January 15, 2027.

This is the first entry in a series of videos exploring Makoto Daito’s journey across five eras and cities between 1915 and 1965, focusing on the people he meets and the pivotal moments that shape his life.

In the Kokura trailer, Daito flees persecution in the United States, sneaking onto the ship of merchant Orpheus to reach Japan. Witness his life-changing first meeting with fellow stowaway Yu Shinjo, the harsh reality that awaits them in Kokura, Fukuoka, and the chain of events that inspires him to become a showman.

More videos highlighting Daito’s life across Japan are on the way. Stay tuned!

Story

Finally arriving in his other homeland of Japan, Makoto Daito begins his new life in the booming steel town of Kokura, Fukuoka. Despite its prosperity and energy, Daito faces the same discrimination he endured in America. But when he crosses paths with people willing to offer a hand and welcome him into their lives, he takes his first steps toward a new future.
