PASIG CITY, PHILIPPINES (February 15, 2023) — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the 2024 Strix family of laptops, including the Strix SCAR 18, the first 18-inch ROG laptop equipped with the mini–LED ROG Nebula HDR Display.
As the vanguard of gaming laptops, all 2024 Strix machines feature the latest flagship Intel® Core™ i9 processor 14900HX, with the Strix SCAR 18 sporting up to an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090 Laptop GPU with 175 W max TGP. Paired with a complete suite of the latest intelligent cooling improvements, including Tri-Fan technology and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU, the 2024 Strix family of laptops has arrived to dominate the competition.
Brilliant detail
This year marks the introduction of the first ROG 18-inch display powered by Mini LED technology. HDR content and games have arrived on the big screen with the arrival of the 2024 Strix SCAR 18, with its Nebula HDR Display boasts over 2000 discrete dimming zones and 1100 nits of peak brightness.
On an 18-inch panel, this dimming zone density, coupled with the ROG Nebula HDR Engine, minimizes blooming and haloing even in challenging scenes, giving the Strix SCAR 18 incredibly vivid HDR performance. While the ROG Nebula HDR panels exclusive to the Strix SCAR line are truly spectacular; all the displays in the 2024 Strix family are visually stunning.
Each model features a 2.5K panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate and under 3 ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time, giving gamers exceptional visual experiences.
For further immersion, these panels have an extra-tall 16:10 aspect ratio and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Dolby Vision® support ensures that the color content on the screen will look exactly as the creator intended, and Dolby Atmos support further increases immersion with expansive and realistic soundstages. No matter which Strix machine a gamer chooses, they will have a display that makes all their games and content more vivid and immersive than ever before.
In addition, the chassis design of the Strix series has received a facelift for 2024, with both Strix SCAR and Strix G now sporting reimagined yet classic ROG cyberpunk design elements. Bold ROG accents across the sides and rear of the machines and exceptional build quality ensure that these laptops will never be mistaken in a crowd.
Flagship performance
The performance-focused ROG Strix family now proudly features the Intel Core i9 processor 14900HX, a flagship 24-core, 32-thread CPU equipped to handle heavy rendering projects, as well as AAA game titles. Plus, the laptops support up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory and up to 2 TB PCIe® Gen4 x4 storage.
Whether gamers are streaming, multitasking, editing video, or all the above, all laptops in the Strix family offer more than enough horsepower to do it all. No gaming machine is complete without a powerful GPU, and the 2024 Strix family comes ready for anything. The Strix SCAR 16 packs an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU while the SCAR 18 offers up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU.
These gaming juggernauts are ready for the most intense gaming sessions right out of the box, thanks in part to its massive 175 W total graphics power with Dynamic Boost. The Strix G16 comes equipped with up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU while the Strix G18 features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU. With incredible rendering performance in the latest games and AI tools like DLSS Super Resolution and Frame Generation available right out of the box, Strix laptops are the ultimate companions for gamers and creators alike.
Cooler than cool
ROG Strix laptops stand at the cutting edge of cooling technologies to maintain peak gaming performance. For the 2024 Strix SCAR and Strix G machines, this includes Tri-Fan technology, a system that utilizes a third auxiliary fan that increases airflow to surface-mounted components on the motherboard while also helping route excess heat from the GPU towards the heatsinks.
While all ROG laptops have liquid metal as the thermal interface between the CPU and their heatsinks, the entire 2024 Strix lineup features ultra-high performance Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal, which drastically reduces temperatures compared to traditional thermal pastes. This not only allows the Strix machines to boost higher and for longer, but it also keeps them running at their absolute best for years to come.
