Sakura Index Interviews is back with a new artist: Nako Misaki
Nako Misaki recently released her single “Meteor” on July 2025. The track was featured as the ending song to the anime I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince, Season 2. In the same anime, Misaki-san voices the role of ‘Lami’. Outside of her singing career she is known to fans as the voice of Chisato Arashi, one of the main cast members of Love Live! Superstar!!.

Q: How do you balance your dual careers as a musician and a voice actor?
Nako Misaki: My work as a voice actress, where I become someone else, and my work as a musician, where I express myself, might seem completely opposite, but they actually overlap in many ways. I make sure that what I gain from one can benefit the other. At the core, it’s still me, so I try to keep that foundation steady.
Q: Who were the Musicians and Seiyūs you looked up to when you were young?
Nako Misaki: For musicians, I looked up to Kumi Koda and Jeong Eun-ji. For voice actresses, Ikue Otani and Suzuko Mimori.
Q: How does it feel to have a dual role in this season? Both as a singer and the Voice of Lamii in Season 2?
Nako Misaki: I’ve always liked the 7th Prince and even watched the first season of the anime, so it’s an honor to be involved in the work in various ways. While that brought a lot of pressure, the warm words of support from everyone were truly encouraging.
Q: What was your approach in voicing Lani in this new anime compared to voicing Chisato and other characters?
Nako Misaki: I don’t have much experience as a voice actress yet, so I didn’t really compare characters or overthink things. But since voicing a Chimera was completely new to me, the whole experience felt fresh from start to finish.
Q: Do you have a favorite character in the Love Live! franchise?
Nako Misaki: I love Kotori Minami!
