I thought I hadn’t changed my Facebook cover photo for quite a while, and so I tried looking for images to replace my current one. While browsing, I found this really cool illustration of Hatsune Miku by tatsumi, so I decided to give this a try.

Hatsune Miku is not a stranger to those well-acquainted in Vocaloid and the fanbase that surrounds it. The first character in the Vocaloid voice simulator program, Miku became the voice behind hundreds of thousands of songs not only in Japan, but also in many countries all over the world. Her image and personality has no boundaries, as she can be anyone from a spoiled princess, a  dark warrior, a cyborg, to a simple yet hopeless romantic high school girl. Her popularity has branched into several video games, with the Project Diva series being the most successful Vocaloid-themed rhythm game up to this day.

Again, there wasn’t much tweaking to the original image, as I believe it’s better to keep its simplicity and elegance as is. Just adjusted a few colors, added gradient hues for vibrancy plus a hint of mosaic filter to give a techno feel.

Here’s how my Facebook timeline looks like with the cover photo. There’s a few blurry areas, due to Facebook’s auto downscaling feature (hoping they’ll make it better in the future too!):

If anyone wants to use this image as a Facebook cover photo, you can download the zip file (including the high res copy of the image) using the download link below. I’m not entirely good with Photoshop so leaving a few comments for improvement will be really helpful. ^o^
