Mrs. GREEN APPLE PROFILE

Mrs. GREEN APPLE (MGA) is a three-member band consisting of Motoki Ohmori (vocals/guitar), Hiroto Wakai (guitar), and Ryoka Fujisawa (keyboard).

Formed in 2013, Mrs. GREEN APPLE made their major debut in 2015 with the mini-album Variety via EMI Records. In July 2020, they released their first greatest hits album, 5, to mark their 5th anniversary, then temporarily suspended activities. Following a hiatus of about 20 months, they resumed activities in March 2022.

The period from March 2022 to December 2025, known as “Phase 2,” saw the band release 37 songs, an unusually high number for just three years and ten months. They made history by being the first artist in J-pop history to surpass 16 billion total streams across their catalog (according to Billboard Japan).

To mark their 10th anniversary in 2025, they released their second greatest hits album, 10, which ranked No. 10 on the IFPI Global Album Chart 2025 and has sold over 1 million copies. In the Oricon Annual Ranking 2025, they placed 10 songs in the Top 20 of the Streaming Ranking, setting a record for the most entries in the chart’s history. They also achieved an unprecedented three consecutive wins at the Japan Record Awards and closed NHK’s national year-end program, Kohaku Uta Gassen, establishing themselves as one of Japan’s leading acts.

A new song, “Kaze to Machi,” is scheduled for digital release in April 2026, with a new original full-length album, their first in about three years, planned for fall 2026.
