Singapore – 26th May 2026 – ZHEN: Shattered Legacy, an ode to Kung Fu, developed by Malaysian studio Ghost Machine Games, and to be published by Singaporean publisher Soft Source released a new trailer, and the first publicly playable demo for the game at Future Games Show’s BitSummit Direct.
You play as a robot warrior monk sent to the distinct lands of Zhen, a fictional, East-Asian inspired world desolated by an ancient war. Trained in the art of the simple bo staff, you begin your journey to challenge the Masters of Kung Fu, and become the new Grand Master of the land.
Fans of iconic portrayals of Kung Fu in media from classic Hong Kong films like The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Once Upon a Time in China, and Kung Fu Hustle, the team was inspired to create a similar experience for modern gamers.
Twin-Stick Brawler
The game utilizes an old-school-style twin-stick mechanic where the right analog stick is used to target and strike your enemies, and the left analog stick is used for character movement.
ZHEN rewards players that master timing, precision, and cadence as battles feel almost rhythmic as you dodge, parry, and strike your opponents in perfect fluidity.
A Desolated World
Taking inspiration from abandoned towns and villages in Japan, ‘haikyo’, the team took the same feeling of desolation and mystery and added a familiar, Southeast Asian twist to the setting of ZHEN.
Collapsing buildings with East Asian architecture, crumbling stone statues, overgrown stone paths and plazas, a fog of mystery and ambiguity over the past lies thick over the town.
90s Hip Hop Soundtrack
Inspired by the ‘Boom Bap’ sub-genre of hip-hop, notably the 90s hip-hop act: The Wu Tang Clan, the game features a similarly-styled soundtrack.
Collect discs which tell stories and legends of this mysterious land, and unlock soundtracks that’ll move you in your journey to challenge the Grand Master.
Sick Beats, Even Sicker Kicks
Take your first steps in your journey to become the Grand Master
