June 9, 2023 – SEGA is pleased to announce that Sonic Superstars – a brand-new installment in the high-speed action series Sonic the Hedgehog – is slated to release in Fall 2023 (PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch™, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, Epic Games Store).

A Brand-New Adventure Begins for Sonic and His Pals!

Sonic Superstars is a brand-new high-speed action game that combines the classic feel of the 2D side-scrolling Sonic series with crisp 3D graphics. A new adventure begins for Sonic and his pals, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles, in the mysterious Northstar Islands, inhabited by gigantic creatures. With your newfound Emerald Powers, stop Dr. Eggman and Fang, who plan to use these creatures for their devious schemes! Sonic Superstars is releasing in Fall 2023.

The next evolution of Classic Sonic

The series’ 2D side-scrolling action is back and better than ever, with new visuals, zones, songs, and mechanics! Newcomers and longtime fans alike can enjoy a brand-new experience that still maintains that classic Sonic charm!

A Colorful Cast of Characters

In Sonic Superstars Tails, Knuckles, and Amy will appear alongside Sonic as playable characters. Use their unique abilities to face off against arch-nemesis Dr. Eggman and Fang. In addition, expect to use your abilities to face off against a never-before-seen new enemy! What’s more, Naoto Ohshima, the designer of the original Sonic the Hedgehog, will be involved in the production to help bring a colorful cast of characters to this new Sonic game!

All-New Emerald Powers

Emerald Powers can be unlocked by collecting Chaos Emeralds. There are a variety of different abilities—some allow you to create clones during battle, climb up waterfalls, dash through the air, and more! Find new ways of clearing each stage using these powers!

Four Player Co-op

For the first time in the history of the series, you’ll be able to play with three other players locally! Have a blast navigating through the stages with family and friends!
