June 8, 2026 – SEGA is thrilled to unveil VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS as the official title of the New Virtua Fighter Project, the next mainline entry in the Virtua Fighter series. The game is slated for launch in 2027.
At Los Angeles’s Summer Game Fest 2026, one of the world’s largest gaming events, SEGA debuted a promo video for VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS.
The VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS SHOWCASE has also been archived. Tune in to hear insights from producer/creative director Riichiro Yamada and the development team as they take us through Vilasapara, the city in which the game takes place, and the evolved combat system.

VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS goes beyond the boundaries of traditional fighting games, delivering a fighting adventure where story and combat become one.
The story dives into the interconnected tales of four protagonists. Their convictions and pasts collide in a groundbreaking single-player adventure that blends an immersive narrative with the series’ signature high-stakes battles.
An Unseen City, An Untold Story — A New VIRTUA FIGHTER Begins.
“The use of firearms in this city will be punished by death.”
In the year 20XX, the Arma Carta ended an era of bloodshed in Vilasapara, allowing the crime syndicates operating there to establish a tenuous balance. Until now.
President Bato has made Vilasapara a key part of his reelection campaign, as he positions the city’s “Vila Fight Fest” as the solution to the country’s economic woes. He seeks to bring the underground fighting tournament to the world stage as a national sport.
His plans are probably unrelated to the recent series of attacks on martial artists by a man dubbed The Bakunawa Killer, but who can truly say.
It is at this crossroads that the fates of four strangers will intersect, causing phantoms from decades past begin to stir… and changing the city of Vilasapara forever.
