Fate/Grand Order’s 5th Anniversary saw the release of a new rhythm game: Fate/Grand Order Waltz in the Moonlight/Lostroom as a way to celebrate the event.

The Game

This game is developed by Aniplex Inc. and mainly focuses on dancing with the starter Servant Mash Kyrelight. Here, she and the player character don elegant clothes fit for a ballroom dance party.

While the game is limited to 550,000 downloads and is region-locked to the Japanese Google Playstore and Apple AppStore, it’s still possible to download the game from QooApp as of this writing.

How to Play

As a rhythm game, Fate/Grand Order Waltz in the Moonlight/Lostroom is played primarily by tapping circles that appear on the screen. Proper timing and precise taps in the middle of these areas nets the player a higher score and allows them to unlock multiplier skills while the dance is in progress.

Another neat ability that you have is the ability to switch Mash’s outfits while dancing. Depending on the costumes you have equipped for her, you can change into them by swiping on the circles instead of tapping on them.

For example, if you wish to switch from her default gown into her Shielder outfit, swiping 3 times in the indicated direction allows her to change costumes and utilize score multipliers as you tap into the circles that appear afterwards.

The Verdict

Fate/Grand Order Waltz in the Moonlight/Lostroom is a chill game and a nice change of pace from the grindy mechanics of the original Fate/Grand Order mobile game. While the game’s language is in Japanese, it’s still easy to follow and understand. If ever you’re in the mood for a dance with your kouhai Shielder in the pale moonlight, this game is a great way to relax with either waltzy or upbeat songs to enjoy.

Fate/Grand Order Waltz in the Moonlight/Lostroom can be downloaded from QooApp for those not in Japan.
