Total War: Warhammer Roundtable

DECEMBER 24TH – SEGA is excited to unveil a Developer Roundtable Video for Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000, developed by its group company The Creative Assembly Limited, for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, along with new details on the title’s future plans.

Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000 is set in the expansive sci-fi fantasy universe of Warhammer 40,000, created by the UK miniature wargame company Games Workshop. The game faithfully captures the grim tone of the 41st Millennium, illustrating the harsh and unforgiving world of the distant future.

■ Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000 Game Vision Developer Roundtable Video Out Now!

 

The newly released video by the development team showcases the game’s world and playable factions, delving into the inspiration behind the art and music, the campaign and combat mechanics, along with some of the developers’ personal favorite units.

■ Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000 Future Roadmap

 

The game is set to have several expansions post-launch.

 

・Chaos Space Marines

 

While they won’t be available at launch, plans are in place to introduce them in future updates, along with more iconic factions.

 

・Mod Support

 

Taking advantage of the new Warcore engine, support will be expanded gradually from the early stages.

■  Total War Retrospectives Now Available

 

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Total War, retrospective interviews for Three Kingdoms and Warhammer have been released.

In the Three Kingdoms retrospective, the development team look back on the behind-the-scenes process, discussing the game’s innovative art direction inspired by traditional Chinese aesthetics, as well as its character designs.

In the Warhammer retrospective, the developers reflect on why Total War, long known as a historical strategy series, ventured into the world of fantasy, and the challenges they faced along the way.
