R×R (Reo/ReoNa & Rondo/R・O・N) Digitally Release “DEPARTURES,” Alongside an Anime Vocal Collection for SYNDUALITY Noir! [PRESS RELEASE]

Posted on 23 January 2025 by TheMartinV

Melodic House Music That Transcends the Boundaries of Anime Songs!

R×R is a fictional unit featured in SYNDUALITY, a large-scale sci-fi project by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Bandai Namco Filmworks, and Bandai Spirits. The unit consists of ReoNa, who performs the theme song for the game SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada, and R・O・N from STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION, who performs the theme song for the TV anime SYNDUALITY Noir. On January 24, 2025, R×R digitally released their song “DEPARTURES” on music streaming platforms.

“DEPARTURES,” a house music track blending melancholy and brightness, serves as a bridge connecting the anime and the game. It was featured as an insert song in the anime’s final episode and is also used in SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada.

ReoNa’s ethereal, emotionally resonant vocals and R・O・N’s gentle, supportive singing intertwine to create a melody that transcends the bounds of typical anime songs and captivates listeners. The English lyrics in the chorus provide a unique flair, creating a soothing listening experience. This once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between the two artists is a must-listen.

In addition to “DEPARTURES,” a Vocal Collection featuring theme songs and insert songs from the TV anime was also digitally released on January 24. The album is packed with content, including newly recorded solo versions of the insert song “Your Song” by Ciel (CV: Nagisa Aoyama) and Noir (CV: Aoi Koga).

About SYNDUALITY

A new sci-fi project by the Bandai Namco Group exploring the theme of misunderstandings between humans and AI. The thoughts and emotions of humans and artificial intelligence that can never truly intersect—the frustration, sadness, and helplessness of longing for each other yet being unable to connect. This project captures and portrays that sorrow through the interactions between humans and AI.

From SYNDUALITY emerges the intertwined lives of humans with humans, humans with AI, and AI with other AI. It is the story of humanity’s final misunderstandings in a world gradually coming to its end.
