Singer-songwriter mekakushe has released a new song titled “Space Gate” on streaming services. This track is a pre-release from her upcoming digital album Love After 13.8 Billion Years, which will be out on November 7, 2025.
Written and composed by mekakushe and arranged by Kosuke Hayashi of Scenarioart, “Space Gate” is a beautifully crafted medium-tempo ballad that expresses a yearning for pop music through a rich, live arrangement. The jacket illustration and music video were created by illustrator Otsukimi.

I arranged the song to evoke a sense of nostalgia in anyone’s heart. While working on it, I found comfort in how the music seemed to gently loosen the heart, like returning to a shared hometown.

I’m truly honored to have been asked to create the music video for “Space Gate.”
I had a wonderful time illustrating a world inspired by the moon, the stars, and the cosmos. The rotating merry-go-round scene is especially dear to me. It came together through many rounds of brainstorming and careful fine-tuning. The reversal of its rotation between the first and second halves expresses the emotional shift of the girl in the story. I hope you enjoy this touch along with the beautiful song and lyrics.
