Iron Man's Steakhouse

Ironman’s Steakhouse combines the luxury of European fine dining with the visual artistry and attention to freshness synonymous with Japanese cuisine to bring a Japanese steak experience that’s a cut above the rest.

Ironman’s Steakhouse was founded by Okinawa native Asahiko Yara and his wife Sophia Yara, both of whom are professed, steak connoisseurs.

Seeking to share their passion for quality steaks with the public, they decided to take the plunge despite the ongoing pandemic. The name was inspired by the couple and their son’s love of the comic character from whom the restaurant derives its name.

Inside the Resto

Upon entering the restaurant, one can readily appreciate its Japanese roots with its clean, cozy, and minimalist aesthetics. With its warm lighting, wood paneling accented by red highlights anchored by an open teppan grilling station, the space has a luxurious feel.

There is also a well-stocked bar area with a wide assortment of wines, liquor, and spirits from all over the world. What makes Ironman’s stand out from other steakhouses is the customizable menu it offers that allows patrons to choose from a variety of price points, culinary styles, and dishes.

One can enjoy a full course meal with either Japanese or European-inspired dishes with prices starting from PHP 1,500 to PHP 3,500 per person. The restaurant also offers a lunch ala carte menu consisting of classic Japanese fares like Pork Tonkatsu and Hamburger Steak. The centerpiece of the menu is the extensive collection of US and Japanese beef, which is cooked exactly as one would like it.

The Menu

An example of this is their Japanese menu which consists of 5 courses and includes an appetizer sampler, entrée, soup, main course, and dessert. The appetizers include Chicken Yakitori, Edamame, Salmon Marinate, and Pork BBQ.

The chicken and pork are both very flavorful and tender, being lightly glazed with teriyaki sauce. The salmon is very fresh, while the edamame gives a nice flavor and texture contrast and gives a Japanese touch to the food.

For the entrée, one can enjoy Wakame Salad with Asian dressing, which combines the crunchy texture of the wakame and the tender vegetable leaves with a flavor contrast of the creamy and fragrant sesame-based sauce.

The miso soup has a rich, mellow flavor which is further enhanced by the addition of mushrooms and kelp.

The main course features two slices of steak paired with vegetable stir fry and tender Japanese rice. The two steaks are cooked as requested; served on a bed of thin-sliced onions and bell peppers; they were glazed with teriyaki sauce and finished with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. The dessert is a delicious Peace Jubilee with vanilla ice cream.

All the dishes are served with the visual artistry which characterizes Japanese culinary tradition combined with meticulous attention to taste and quality. The patron’s meals are prepared on the spot by their resident Japanese chef, who ensures everything served is not only a feast to the eyes but also the palate. For drinks, Ironman’s offers a wide array of European wines, hard liquor, and Japanese spirits, such as the rare awamori. They can also mix up a wide selection of cocktails.

You can visit Ironman’s Steakhouse at Ayala Malls Circuit Makati and is open from 10:00am to 9:00pm.
