Japanese signer and voice actress Maaya Sakamoto is set to release her 4th concept album “Duets” on March 17, 2021. This will be her 2nd album to commemorate her 25th anniversary and her first-ever duet album.

“Duets” will consist of 7 collab songs with fellow artists that Sakamoto has worked with before.

These include Hiroki Wada, who sang “Yakusoku wa Iranai” with her, and “Mystic Eyes” from Vision of Escaflowne (1996); Yoshio Inoue, Yumi Uchimura of La La Larks, Kyoko Koizumi, Kohei Dojima, Asako Toki, and Masakazu Hara of The Band Apart.

In addition to songs written by the above artists and Sakamoto herself, there will also be musical contributions from Tendre, Shoko Suzuki, Ryo Eguchi, Yuho Iwasato, and more!

Born in Tokyo and active as a child actress from the age of 8. She made her CD debut in 1996 with the single “Yakusoku wa Iranai”, the opening song from the anime Vision of Escaflowne.

In 2011, her album “You Can’t Catch Me” topped the Oricon chart. In March 2013, she released “Singer-Songwriter”, the first album for which she wrote all the music.

She won the 38th Kazuo Kikuta Theater Award for her performance as Jerusha in the musical Daddy-Long-Legs.

In April 2015, she held a concert at Saitama Super Arena to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut.

In March 2018, she went on tour, performing in Taipei and Hong Kong. In July of the same year, she released “Gyakkou,” a theme song mobile game “Fate/Grand Order” and its 2nd story arc: Cosmos in the Lostbelt. It reached 4th on the Oricon chart.

In July 2019, she released her 30th single “Uchuu no Kioku” (produced by Ringo Sheena), and in November, her 10th original album Kyou Dake no Ongaku. She also wrote the lyrics for the Kinki Kids’ 41st single “Hikari no Kehai” and further expanded her music activities.

In July 2020, she released her 25th anniversary album Single Collection+ Achikochi, which reached fifth on the Oricon chart. In August, she released the digital single “Yakudo,” which topped the Oricon chart.

She is also a voice actress with popular roles in anime and games. These include Jeanne d’Arc (Fate Apocrypha and Fate/Grand Order), Leonardo Da Vinci and Jeanne d’Arc Alter (Fate/Grand Order), Lunamaria Hawke (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny), Haruhi Fujioka (Ouran High School), Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell), Shiki Ryougi (Kara no Kyoukai/The Garden of Sinners), Aigis (Persona 3), Aerith (Final Fantasy VII and its Remake version).

Her roles as an actress, lyricist, essay writer, and radio personality, and her vibrant voice have won the support of fans all over the world.

Maaya Sakamoto is married to fellow voice actor Kenichi Suzumura, who also plays roles alongside her in Fate/Grand Order (as Dr. Romani Archaman/King Solomon), Kara no Kyoukai/The Garden of Sinners (as Mikiya Kokutou) and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny (as Shinn Asuka).
