A New Player Enhancement System is Among September 19th’ｓReveals
Tokyo, September 30, 2025 – SEGA shared a new NGS Headline WAVE [https://youtube.com/live/1NIipEX04TU], a program to inform players about upcoming campaigns and updates for SEGA’s free-to-play online action RPG, PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 NEW GENESIS version 2. Updates include a new player enhancement system, a limited-time event, a new mini episode, and more.
EX Style
Introducing EX Style, a new player enhancement system! Players can use this system to strengthen their character by selecting a “Style” from multiple available options, similar to choosing a Main or Sub-Class. When a Style is set, it unlocks a special action called After Blast, as well as unique skills that differ for each Style. After Blast is an EX Style-exclusive action. It’s a powerful move that can be used after activating a Photon Blast. In addition to its high damage, it also triggers extra effects depending on the skills of the Style you have equipped. When activated, a special camera animation will play! Like regular classes, Styles also have levels. When players gain experience while a Style is set, its level will increase, granting the Skill Points needed to learn that Style’s Skills. Style Levels and Skill Points are shared across all characters, so they don’t need to be levelled individually.
Three different Styles are coming in this update. Each has its own traits and affinity, so try them out and choose the one that best matches your playstyle or the quest you’re tackling. Limited-time Tasks will also be added alongside this update. Complete these Tasks to earn rewards such as Special Scratch Tickets and Silver Big Bang Scratch Tickets. Additionally, the level cap for all classes will be raised to 110. Try out the new EX Styles, level up, and take on new quests!
C/Tera Triyal Augment
Players can create a new Augment, C/Tera Triyal, in the Item Lab’s Exchange Enhancement Materials under Augment Capsules. To exchange for it, they will need C/Giga Triyal as well as a new Augment, C/Grau Triya. C/Grau Triya is dropped by enemies in the Crimson Realm, and will also be available through future updates. Additionally, Creative Space will be getting new Stia-inspired items such as the Stira – Hexablock and Stira – Hexapillar.
Faltek Face
A new Face Option: Faltek Face will be added. This shares the same mechanical-style design as the Falte Face but with more editable options. In the Ornament Display Settings, players can now toggle the display of eyelashes and eyelids. When eyelashes or eyelids are hidden, the eyes will be able to blink, and you’ll also gain full access to various eye-related adjustments. Alongside this update, the NGS Team is also adding a new sample face and will be holding a “Use the Salon to your heart’s content!” Campaign, so be sure to try out the new Face Option!
Crimson Realm
From October 1st, for one week only, the Crimson Realm will appear in Kvaris Combat Sectors. This time, the location will alternate between Belugana Ruins and Lost Central. In the Crimson Realm, the weather turns a menacing red, and Starless Enemies get even stronger. Complete the Trial Side Missions that change over with a set probability to change PSE Bursts to Forte or Encore. This will be a great opportunity to level up both class and EX Style levels.
New Mini Episode
A new Mini Episode will be released on October 1st; continuing from the episode released in August, it will depict the evolving feelings of your companions following the battle with Vael. An additional Task-linked Episode focusing on Hibana, a character deeply connected to Crawford and Glen, will also be available. This episode will be unlocked as players progress through the Main Tasks.
