From Hong Kong-based development studio Arrowiz, comes Mato Fragments, the next instalment of their Mato series that started with Mato Anomalies. Founded in 2016, Arrowiz has always favoured storytelling through interactive fiction that blends dark fantasy with unique investigation mechanics, as can be seen in their previous titles Mato Anomalies, and Hermitage: Strange Case Files.

With Mato Fragments, Soft Source is excited to partner with Arrowiz to bring the origin story of Neo City to life. Illustrated in a visually distinct style, Mato Fragments drops players in the heart of the city, into the shoes of ‘My Lady’, the owner of ‘Night Smoke’, a photo shop where it seems there’s more than meets the eye.

About Mato Fragments

Mato Fragments introduces the origin of Neo City, a jazz age oasis in a sea of dystopia and ruin. Populated by different cultures, timelines, and technologies, the fragile peace of Neo City is threatened as a plot to overthrow the city looms on the horizon.

Game Features

  • Social Butterfly

As the city’s expert in socializing and gathering information, you can enter Detective Mode to closely observe characters to deduce their true intention. Trade information wisely to impact character’s behaviour and choices.

  • The Clock is Ticking…

Or rather, not at all… You and the city are trapped in a 5-day time loop. Tread carefully, as one wrong decision can set you back to the start of the time loop. Study the diverse cast of characters as you collect information from them and help the people around you avoid disastrous consequences.

  • Retro-futurism, meet Asia!

Illustrated beautifully in a unique, stylized art style, Mato Fragments immerses players in a dark, retro-futuristic world that integrates both traditional and modern-day Asian influences in the art style, architecture, and character designs.
