Music for the new series will be produced by FlyingDog, who has headed music production for the franchise thus far, and Lantis (Bandai Namco Music Live), the producer of hit series LoveLive!. This powerful duo produced a brand new theme song for the auditions to be the next Macross song princess. The song “I to I” combines a sense of speed and passion, and with the catchy phrase “Hear this whole-hearted song!”, it’s giving fans high hopes for the upcoming series.

Auditions will be accepted until Wednesday, April 30, 11:59 PM (JST). Those interested in auditioning can enter by uploading a video of oneself singing the song “I to I” to YouTube. The song is available to download for those interested in making derivative works such as dance or instrumental videos as well. Those uninterested in the audition are also welcome to participate.

Additionally, there will be videos uploaded every week of past Macross song princesses and special guests singing the theme song as part of a special campaign to promote the new series. The first video of the campaign features Minori Suzuki, winner of the Macross Delta song princess audition and voice of the heroine Freyja Wion. There will be more videos of special guests singing along to “I to I” released every week for everyone to enjoy.
